<概要/目的>
Our main objective was to facilitate a welcome party for the arrival of the UoS students at an Izakaya.

<方法/企画としての特徴>
To create a welcoming environment after a long day of travel for the students of the University of Seoul, Kaito and I decided to hold the welcome party at an Izakaya to provide both food and drinks for all members involved. Kaito was primarily responsible for creating the reservation at an izakaya near Minamiosawa station. Prior to the welcome party, we brainstormed conversation starters and party games for all students to get to know one another during their time at the party. Both Kaito and I created a list with a multitude of questions that were translates in English, Japanese and Korean to allow for easier communication within the groups. In addition, we came up with a drawing game for the students where they would guess what the artist is drawing based off of a random list of words that were a mix of biology-related and fun topics like animals or food. We also planned for all members to give a brief introduction during the beginning of the welcome party to have everyone learn each other's names and year of study to help break the ice. Following this, the groups were allowed to freely converse, eat, and drink as they please during the 2 hour time limit. Near the end of the time, Kaito and I were responsible for helping wrap up the party and making sure that people were ready to leave.

As for the farewell party, I was not present for the day of but I assisted in the planning and preparation for it. During the weekend before the farewell party, Sophia and I went grocery shopping at supermarkets Gyomu and Itoyokado to buy ingredients for cooking, drinks and snacks. This consisted of multiple trips to the different supermarkets as we were preparing food and drinks for ~17 people present for the party. Kaito and I also went grocery shopping during the weekend to pick up more time-sensitive ingredients the following day, such as meats. I spent much of the time preparing food. Specifically, I prepared 4 different Mexican-style foods such as Carne asada, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, and Frijoles.

<活動内容/具体的成果>
Overall the welcome party and farewell party were both successful. The welcome party allowed for everyone to converse and get to know each other, creating a much more comfortable environment for all involved in the coming days. The provided conversation starters and games allowed for all to participate and enjoy themselves. The food and drinks from having the party at an izakaya made the party much more streamlined as everyone could eat and drink as they wanted. By the end of the time, all of the students, both TMU and UoS, were cheerful and excited for the coming days of collaboration.

As for the farewell party, it also went very well. Although I was not present, the food prepared was enjoyed thoroughly. People were able to converse easily with each other and enjoy the company of one another.

<感想/課題など(企画力/評価力/自主性等の向上を含む)>
Holding the welcome party at an izakaya made for much of the stress of holding a party very easy. Food, drinks, and a space were all provided for a reasonable price, so this should be considered again for future iterations of this exchange. One comment is that a bit more money going towards accommodation for the farewell party may be useful. Space was a bit of an issue, but it went well with those limitations in mind.
