＜概要／目的＞
Several international students from the biology department managed and organized a class related to R studio. The students assigned tasks every week for room set-up, printing, and coffee & snacks preparation. The goal of this class is to learn how to use R for research purposes. Hopefully, it will be a regular class in the future that can be opened for foreign students.

＜方法／企画としての特徴＞
The class will be conducted every Mondays with Dr. Isaac Planas-Sitjà as the course facilitator. The students will have an assigned task for each meetings:

Room setup: Making sure the projector is ready, making sure the cables are set up, and also leaving the room tidy before and after the class.
Printing: Printing out any handouts and distributing them during class.
Coffee: Having coffee and hot water ready for class (will be provided, student does not have to purchase)
Online setup: Preparing laptop for online video recording of lecture

＜活動内容／具体的成果＞
The students were able to learn how to use R and statistics that can be used for research purposes. We were also obtained sample codes that we can utilize for our studies. Moreover, we were taught on how to make graphs and plots using R studio.

Aside from the technicalities, the students were able to manage properly a class that was not yet officially offered yet.

＜感想／課題など（企画力／評価力／自主性等の向上を含む）＞

A survey was conducted by Dr. Isaac Planas-Sitjà about the course. I agree that this course should be officially offered by the university since using R is vital in today's scientific research. The R class that should be offered to the students must be opened for both Japanese and foreign students since there are many international students in TMU.
